Distributed Antenna Systems

Public Safety

Federal, state, and local legislation has made Public Safety Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), also known as Emergency Responder Radio Coverage Systems (ERRCS), mandatory in many jurisdictions. These systems are critical to public safety and help to ensure that first responders can maintain contact with one other when responding to emergencies. The rapid adoption by local AHJ’s has left many building owners, construction companies, and tenants scrambling for solutions in order to meet the new coverage requirements. These systems are complex and depending on the location, the codes may vary drastically as it relates to enclosure ratings, cable pathways, and system classifications.

Cellular

Cellular Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) help to ensure cellular coverage and cohesive communication within a building. As construction materials have become more energy efficient, buildings have become RF deficient. Metal, concrete, Low E glass, and other materials combine to decrease signal strength within buildings. Simultaneously, users and business have become increasingly dependent upon mobile devices. The expectation for quality coverage is moving from a luxury to a requirement. Cellular coverage has become an in-building amenity.
